so myriam dion is a paper-cutting artist from montreal. haven’t found any exhibitions of her stuff south of canada, but isn’t this cool? she takes newspaper pages and tells the stories contained within by weaving in other pages and montages, and, voila, a completely new work of art. tiny tiny exacto knife cuts create entire stories, fragile, intricately beautiful.
aside from the visuals, she intends to make us question our sound-bite approach to the news while encouraging deeper thought about current events.
