snowy renwick day

back when i relied on the bus to commute, early days in dc and in boston with the T, i would stand outdoors at a bus/T stop, waiting for a bus/train. eventually, tired of waiting, getting cold, when i could be moving, i’d try to beat the bus to the next stop. and if it didn’t show up there in a minute or so, i’d walk quickly to the next stop. and on and on. sometimes, i’d watch the bus pass me between stops and sometimes i ended up walking all the way home. today, i walked and walked and saw three buses going the other way and then the snow was getting my books wet (had stopped by Politics & Prose, treating myself to the new Amor Towles novel. and of course, can’t stop at just one book, so the only type of bag they had (paper) was quickly disintegrating in the snow). lyft wanted $15 to go the 2.2 miles up the road, and that made me mad so i kept arriving at bus stops and waiting to no avail. good old taxi cab! much cheaper than a lyft and my books made it home safely.

so before P&P, i visited the “New Glass Now” exhibit at the Renwick (up through the beginning of march). found a lot to like, and one i really loved.

clears my head to visit a museum. today’s was a good visual haul.
