right here, right now (part one)

satch is 17 years old now. marxe met us in nyc where we spent a couple hours in a bead store.

ate tremendous amounts, went to the top of the empire state building, saw a show. it was a really good weekend.

can’t stop thinking about jay bouwmeester’s cardiac ‘event’ tuesday night on the st louis bench. would that response speed have saved scott? drowning is different than heart attack, but who knows.

now that the orange bull-pizzle excuse for a turd bucket has been exonerated by the gill-breathing senators of the black lagoon, he’s continuing. at hyperspeed. as promised. able to shoot someone on fifth avenue and get away with it, yeah. or order his justice department to drop the sentencing of CONVICTED scurvy Stone. please please remind me of a time in american history that it was this bad. that our PRESIDENT actually taunted the american people with his lawlessness. trying to remember that it’s all cyclical: has it been this bad before? or is this caligula before the fall? if so, it gives me some comfort cause the rest of the world continues. and improves. and humans accomplish some beauty and truth in the next 2000 years. or is it the ultimate fall, the end? does it really matter?

and i don’t mind the primary arguing. it’s good. gets us to where we need to be, even though my first choice won’t make it (warren) and my second, third, and fourth choices have already dropped. fighting the desperate apathy every day’s news cycle brings.

so i keep going, trusting that even though nothing ultimately matters, i’m here (in some state) and need to accomplish what i can during that time. creating and holding kindness. like the end of the good place (SPOILERS), which followed through on it’s theme of salvation through kindness, humor, consideration, love, and friendship. what we owe to each other. continuing some sort of existence until we get it right (if brent was on his 15,000th attempt, how long will it take the cheetoh-in-chief?).  appreciate the examination of western philosophical tendrils these past four years, but ending with such an eastern karma-based nirvana, where we truly experience inner peace, was perfect. jason becomes a monk, tahani really helps people, chidi decides, and eleanor gives a damn about fellow souls. not just the ending of a favorite show, also the way they ended it. michael schur is a good person. used to say that the Force best exemplified my religion — now i can point to this. and chidi’s jeremy bearimy calendar.
